Wisdom Bites Back (pt. 6)

“If you ever see a politician with a firecracker in their mouth, make sure you didn’t leave anything on the stove.” – T. Lewin.

Anyway, the last story I wrote (and previous blog post), called ‘We the Divine‘ is a personal favourite of mine. I don’t really have favourites. And I hate writing about what I think, but yes these are real thoughts from the blogger, not just the fiction writer. And that was a favourite story for sure. It’s hard to tell when you’re in the writing mode if you’ve actually created anything that resonates – you don’t even really know if it’s any good, because you wrote the thing and you’re kind of biased. I think it’s a great short story. I could be wrong. I could be right. I can never tell – and so it goes. But it’s there and I think it sings, and is just so strange that it’s got to be okay – right? Yeah. Right. Just put yourself out there, I say. Doesn’t matter if anyone’s reading – it just really doesn’t. But for anyone who does – thank you.

Dream hard, rage hard.

  1. When in doubt, put it out. And see what happens. Sometimes I feel shocked at what my readers like, and equally shocked at what bombs. I guess that’s part of the excitement of writing. You just never know how your audience is going to react.

    1. I wonder if a bomb is just partly when you post something. It’s so easy for posts to just get lost in the shuffle. But if you hit a good time, you might get people paying attention. Anyway, no big deal, you write what you write and you put it out. Your posts are always interesting, by the way. I haven’t seen a bomb yet.
