In case anyone subscribes to December Magazine (https://decembermag.org/product/volume-35-2/), I’ve got a story in the latest edition called ‘Stars’. It’s a quasi-digital gay romance that I deeply love. December is a US-based lit magazine that has been around since the 1950’s.
Also had two stories published in the latest edition of Freefall Magazine (https://freefallmagazine.ca/magazine/freefall-volume-xxxiiii-number-2/), Canada’s magazine of exquisite writing (that’s a great tag-line). ‘The Arms of Village’ is a short story about love that I’ve read in public before, and barely got through. It was just so hard to read. I thought it was unpublishable, so I thank Freefall. ‘Vestigial’ is about the pieces of us that sometimes go away, and what remains. It’s also an unabashed love story.
Me? Writing love stories? What else would I write about?
And in case you’re up for a free story, a piece called ‘Dragon boy’ published in the Bangalore Review (https://bangalorereview.com/2024/10/dragon-boy/). Not a love story. What’s that thing again, that is the opposite of love? Loneliness, I think.
I’m not a cynical person. I am an optimist. I try to find the good in life, and however dark my stories sometimes spiral, they always go back to hope.
